Season End & Champs Results

First of all, I want to thank Stephanie Welles for coordinating the Awards Banquet!! Even though we had some rain, we had a great turnout of brave families who came bearing canopies, umbrellas, chairs and food to celebrate the end of our season. Thank you to Guido’s for the delicious pasta. We even had enough left over to serve at the Champs dinner!! I do not have a list of those who helped with the banquet so if you helped set-up, serve, clean-up or provided a canopy – THANK YOU!!

We will be needing a person or persons to coordinate the awards banquet next summer. Again, if we do not have anyone to coordinate this function – IT WILL NOT HAPPEN! Stephanie has kept impeccable records of what she ordered, bought and set up for the banquet. Please grab a friend and step up to help with this for 2010.

I also wanted to thank Ed Cadieux (who helped us out even though his kids are too old to swim!!) for maintaining the website and his timeliness in getting things posted. We will be using the website to disperse information as we get closer to next years’ season. Please bookmark it!! www.milestonemakos.com

Champs is now complete and it was a very competitive meet. Twenty-nine of our swimmers (out of a total of 1087!!!) and their families (along with our 4 coaches) travelled up to the George Mason Freedom Center in Manassas for two days of swimming, eating and lounging in the gym. Thank you to all of the families who made the trek and a special thanks to those parents who volunteered. This meet was run completely by parent volunteers and it is a huge undertaking so – Thank You!
